Our top level service provides the compliance rigour to ensure that even the smallest of operations meet their obligations under Australian financial services law. This involves utilising TAIM’s established Australian Financial Service Licence structure, practices and policies to guide the promotion of the fund and the delivery of client services.
Complimenting this service, managers are able to leverage TAIM’s established expertise in a range of technical and operational funds management areas.
Regulatory Compliance
If you provide financial services or deal in a financial product in Australia, the Corporations Act requires you to hold an Australian Financial Services Licence (AFSL), or to act as an authorised representative of an AFSL holder, such as TAIM.
TAIM Investments Pty Ltd, holder of AFSL No. 498819, can provide investment managers starting out on their asset management journey with the ability to comply with these requirements. In accordance with section 916A of the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth), TAIM can provide its Authorised Representatives with authority to provide the following services on its behalf:
- provide general financial product advice for the following classes of financial products:
- interests in managed investment schemes excluding investor directed portfolio services; and
- securities; and
- deal in a financial product by:
- arranging for another person to issue, apply for, acquire, vary, or dispose of a financial product in respect of the following classes of financial products:
- interests in managed investment schemes excluding investor directed portfolio services; and
- applying for, acquiring, varying, or disposing of a financial product on behalf of another person in respect of the following classes of products:
- basic and non-basic deposit products;
- derivatives;
- foreign exchange contracts;
- debentures, stocks, or bonds issued or proposed to be issued by a government;
- interests in managed investment schemes excluding investor directed portfolio services; and
- securities;
- arranging for another person to issue, apply for, acquire, vary, or dispose of a financial product in respect of the following classes of financial products:
to Wholesale Clients.
Technical and Operational Management
TAIM also has the capability to provide both start-up and established Investment Managers with a range of additional services, including:
- Operational systems set-up and ongoing management services,
- AI, data and python-based quantitative analysis advice and services, and
